Point of View

The novel is told in the third person point of view following Charlotte for half the book and Ben for the other half. However, this does not prevent the narration from feeling up close and personal. The reader is meant to feel everything that Charlotte and Ben experience. Both point-of-views are limited to what the character’s know at any given time. This includes the Rabbit Holes that start each of Charlotte’s sections as they are clearly things that she has explored in her own research. All of this allows the reader to understand exactly what is going on in Ben and Charlotte’s mind through the stresses and negativity of their life and the happy moments that they find in between it all.
