Summary

Chapter Fifteen begins from Jamie’s perspective as he wakes up with four texts from Maya. Maya cannot meet him for canvassing that day and asks if they can canvass again later in the week. They text back and forth about donuts and chocolate cake from Cafe Intermezzo as Maya is excited to eat during the day after Ramadan is over. Sophie barges into Jamie’s room claiming an emergency. She and her friends need a ride to the mall so they can help their friend Tessa flirt with a boy there. Jamie agrees though on the ride he stresses about giving the bat mitzvah toast in front of all of these tween girls. Jamie texts his friends and finds out they are already at the mall.
