It is time for the once cowardly Lion to claim his place as King of the Beasts. When the travelers exit the land of china, they find themselves in a gloomy land filled with bogs and marshes. They eventually enter a dark forest that is not much to any of their liking, except the Lion's. He feels at home among the moss and trees.
After resting for a night, Dorothy and her friends continue to walk through the forest. They hear the sound of wild animals and eventually come to a clearing where hundreds of animals are gathered. The animals seem to be having some kind of meeting. When they see the Lion, the animals all hush and turn their attention to him.
