Part Four: Jack Summary

The Call - In August Jack's parents got a call from Mr. Tushman. They wanted to know if Jack would be willing to go into the school to meet a new boy. As he learned more about the boy, Jack new exactly who it was.

Carvel - Jack remembers seeing August when he was five or six years old. He was honestly scared by the looks of the other boy and felt horrible about it. He had seen him several times around the neighborhood since then.

Why I Changed My Mind - At first Jack doesn't want to do it. Then, he talks with his brother and sees his brother's reaction to August. It makes Jack feel bad. Jamie is usually a nice kid, and seeing August made him want to run away. Jack couldn't imagine living like that...
