Summary

In Chapter 38, after Grady and Terry escape with Grady’s car, Grady mourns the loss of his manuscript. Terry tries to cheer up Grady and view this as an opportunity at a fresh start with a more manageable project. Grady and Terry go to Walter’s office, where the police have brought James. Terry enters with the Monroe jacket and with the intention of persuading Walter to be lenient towards James. In Chapter 39, after smoking some cannabis, Grady enters the office building, following Terry. While Terry speaks with Walter privately, Grady speaks with Sara.
