Spiritual Quest

Roland and his ka-tet, his companions, are on a spiritual quest to find the mythical Dark Tower. Roland is very old and has been on this quest most of his life, but his three human companions have only been on the quest for a short time. Roland believes that the Dark Tower is the physical manifestation of destiny, that it somehow controls the destinies of all people and without it the world would simply cease to exist. Roland also believes the tower is dying, explaining the destruction of the world where he grew up. Roland and his ka-tet hope that when they find the tower they will learn the answers to the mysteries that surround it and are able to keep it from destruction.
