Roland and his ka-tet are at the Pavilion planning for the meeting they will hold there in four days. Jake has told everyone about The Dogan and Slightman's betrayal. Jake asks Roland not to kill Slightman, but Roland refuses to make any promises. Eddie speaks to Callahan about Tower, suggesting that Callahan go to Manhattan to find out where Tower went and then to check up on him. While Roland and his ka-tet are talking at the Pavilion, Andy arrives, leading a group of children in song. It reminds Eddie of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
