Roland and his ka-tet ride to Calla Bryn Sturgis with the Calla people. Roland looks down on the town and feels a sense of homecoming because the Calla looks a lot like the place where he grew up. Roland tells his ka-tet that there will be a party at the Pavillion that night and that they should be careful about how much they drink during the celebration.
