Roland wakes to find Susannah making her way to a nearby swamp. Susannah is not herself, Roland can see, but she has taken on the personality of Mia. Susannah suffered multiple personality disorder when she first came to Roland's world, but with his help she was able to consolidate those personalities in one, Susannah. Now, however, Roland is afraid Susannah has become pregnant with the child of a demon she was forced to distract while Roland and Eddie saved Jake some weeks before.
