Point of View

This short story is narrated by a third person omniscient narrator. It can be proved that the narrator is omniscient because he is able to share with the reader the thoughts and emotions of all the characters in the story. There is no particular character of focus. He records Junior’s disbelief that so many lies are being told about him as well as Delgado’s joy that he has been able to watch a trial in which another man went to jail for the crimes that Delgado committed. The narrator also is able to record the thoughts and feelings of the Chief of the Tappacola tribe as well the prosecutor’s desire to win the trial so he would have bragging rights.
