Dolly House

The Dolly house is located in Rathlin Valley in the Ozarks. It is where Ree lives with her mother (Connie) and brothers (Harold and Sonny.) The house originally belonged to Connie's parents, and is filled with a collection of their ancient belongings. In the narrative present, the house is dilapidated and unkempt. Given Connie's poor mental health and Jessup's perpetual absence, Ree struggles to keep up with the house's repairs and cleanliness on her own. The Dolly house is the location for many of the novel's events. The Dolly boys are often depicted inside the space, huddled in blankets, begging Ree for something to eat.
