Summary

In pages 45 - 81, Ree waited with Sonny and Harold for the bus. They talked about coyotes. When the bus arrived, Ree asked if she could have a ride. Walking through the school grounds, Ree saw people she recognized. Then she got a ride from a food delivery truck. Eventually she arrived in Hawkfall. The town seemed eerie. Ree approached a house where she knew Little Arthur lived. With the reluctant help of a woman, Megan, she met Little Arthur. He teased her. Ree talked back, demanding he tell her where Jessup was, knowing they cooked meth together. Eventually they sat for lunch. Arthur gave her mushrooms. He had not seen Jessup since spring.
