When Lia returns home from Elijah's house, she tells her parents that she's been studying at a friend's house, spending the evening gossiping and eating pizza. Her dad beams, so proud. Jennifer continues to ask Lia to call her mother, Chloe, saying that Chloe is desperate for Lia to spend the night at her house, just one night. Lia agrees to call her mother just to get Jennifer to shut up. Late that night, Lia creeps out of bed for a sleeping pill and overhears her father and Jennifer discussing her. Jennifer admits that Chloe wants Lia to move back in with her because she fears that Lia's behavior is out of control again, that she's not truly recovering in her father's house.
