Summary

In "Sleeping With Spirits," Gotti suggests he and Gabriel become hitmen. He tells Gabriel all hitmen have a spirit that protects them, giving them power and keeping them from getting caught. Gabriel is surprised Gotti is talking about spirituality and magic. Gotti talks about other people they know who have murdered; they always get away with it. Later, Gabriel realizes he may never escape his life with Gotti.

In "Werewolves," Gabriel is plagued by dreams. His relationship with Yinka worsens until she breaks up with him. He feels distracted in school by the breakup and life with Gotti. Gotti starts telling his friends how amazing Gabriel is which puts "some kinda power into me" (211). After more robberies, Gabriel considers how other people might see him and Gotti.
