With his unceasing efforts to make himself someone important, he's earned to right to elevate himself above these bankrupt nonentities forever, he muses. Meanwhile his exquisitely beautiful wife Norma lies in the sun purposelessly and inert. Her main worry is how to get more admiration and attention.
