Americus tells Novalee to hurry brushing her hair because she is ready to go to Playland at McDonald's to meet Lexie and the kids. Novalee asks where Moses is. Certain says he is staying busy with a broken heart, trying to forget that Novalee and Americus are moving. Certain says Forney's heart is breaking, too. Novalee says Certain knows she does not want to go. Certain says that man named Ray called again. Novalee asks what he wanted. Certain says he did not say, but he left his number.
