Chapter 15 Summary

Novalee begins taking birth control pills after her second date with Troy. After three pills, they make love in his apartment. He does not say anything about protection, so she is glad about the pills. She thinks about how she just took three pills. She realizes three pills will not help her, and she wonders why she was with a man who did not care about protection. At the trailer, she washes herself, like that is going to help. She remembers doing foolish things while she was with Willy Jack, like drinking Coke and aspirin and taking vinegar baths, things she heard about in seventh grade.
