Chapter 14 Summary
Novalee asks Moses if he remembers her. He says he gave her a baby book, and she took his picture. She says he was correct about time and names. He says they did talk about names and asks for hers. She says it is Novalee Nation. Indicating her nametag, she says she works there. He asks about her baby. She says it was a girl. He says a baby girl is a blessing. She says she has a good name, which is Americus. He says Americus Nation is fitting. The intercom asks for extra checkers. Novalee says that is her. He says he takes pictures the next day. She says it is her day off, but she will be there with Americus. The manager, Reggie, calls him Mose and says it is nice to see him. Moses says "Moses Whitecotton".
