Summary

As the seasons change in Palm Beach, Beatriz’s crush on Nick Preston has not dissipated. Even though he has left for Washington DC, Beatriz still feels his presence around South Florida. She spends her days with her sister Elisa, who has a husband and a toddler. Beatriz notes that motherhood has changed her sister, almost as much as America has changed her. Beatriz watches her sister’s new life in South Florida and can’t imagine herself happily married.

Meanwhile, Mr. Dwyer informs Beatriz that the CIA will be moving forward with assassination plans against Fidel Castro.
