Chapters 15 and 16 Summary

In Chapter 15, after breakfast, Tucker drives up with the support beams he and Gilbert have been assembling. Gilbert and Tucker go down to the basement to install it. A little while later, Amy flicks the basement light on and off as a signal to Gilbert that Momma is awake. As Momma crosses the floor, plaster from the basement ceiling falls on Gilbert and Tucker's heads. When Momma gets settled in the bathroom, Amy plays an Elvis song to signal to them that the coast is clear for them to come upstairs. After Gilbert and Tucker load their trucks with the leftover wood and drive out of the driveway, Gilbert sees Ellen hurting Arnie to try to get him to come home.
