Out: Chapters 1-4 Summary

Chapter 1. Asa plays centerfield for a little league baseball team. Asa knows Dave and his mother are in the stands cheering for him. Asa plays well, fielding the balls and batting well when his turn comes.

Chapter 2. When Asa, his mother and stepfather move into the big two story house Dave does not want him to have the large bedroom upstairs. Asa believes it is because it offers him privacy. Dave and Asa's mother argue over it with Asa finally getting the room. However, Dave often walks in unannounced as though expecting to catch Asa doing something wrong.
