Summary

Chapter Twenty-Two, “Annie Oh” - In first-person, present-tense narration, Annie describes getting a phone call from Viveca in the immediate aftermath of the rehearsal dinner. Viveca talks about her reactions to meeting Ariane (who seems level-headed to her) and Andrew (who seemed so handsome and so quiet), and to again having spent time with Marissa (who seemed to be drinking too much). Annie cannot help but question the genuine-ness of Vivica’s opinions, particularly when Viveca tells her she had been a good mother.

After Viveca hangs up, Annie notes that there have been two calls from an unrecognized number from Rhode Island that she ignores, believing them to be coming from a real estate company that had been bothering her earlier in the month. She also starts recalling Kent, but forces herself to stop thinking about...
