Summary

Chapter Six, “Orion Oh” - As traffic continues to accelerate, and as Orion continues to make better time as he heads for Viveca’s summer house, he recalls the three occasions when he and Viveca met.

In first-person, past-tense narration, Orion describes his and Viveca’s first meeting as something of a surprise. Shortly after he and Annie separated, he had arranged to meet with Annie, and she had brought Viveca without telling him. He was civil for the first part of the dinner they were sharing, but ended up losing his temper and walking out. Later, Annie apologized. At the second meeting, Annie asked him to meet them at Viveca’s apartment, but he did not go up, not wanting to see the physical evidence of their life together and waiting in the building’s lobby while chatting...
