Point of View

The novel is told from fifteen different points of view; fourteen are different characters, and one is told in a collective perspective. Of the fourteen characters’ chapters, thirteen are told from the first person perspective, while one is told from the fourth person perspective. One chapter is told from the collective we perspective. The first two chapters and last chapter are told in Japantown, while the others are mostly told from the perspective of being in the camps. Minnow has two chapters - the first and last - to tell his first person perspective. The other thirteen characters only have one chapter to tell their perspective total.
