Chapter 43 Summary

The Great Patrol

Woundwort has had patrols out looking for the new warren. He finds the warren and plans a surprise attack. Hazel shows up and offers the General a compromise. He points out the overcrowding in Woundwort's warren. Hazel suggests building a new warren between the two and creating it with rabbits from both warrens. The General briefly understands that the idea is a good plan, but his pride and brutality will not allow him to consider accepting the offer. He tells Hazel that if the does, Blackavar and Bigwig are not immediately returned; his patrol will kill Hazel and all the bucks in.....
