Anna Pavlovna and company are repulsed and amused by Pierre, calling him "crack brained" while he's away. Boris makes an appearance at Anna Pavlovna's, and they are all very impressed with him—especially Helene. Helene tells Boris that she must see him on the following Tuesday about an important matter.
