Norta

Norta is the main country of the novel ruled by the Calore family. Throughout the novel, Norta is in a civil war between Maven, who has allies with PIedmont and the Lakelands, and Cal who has alliances with Montfort and the Rift. Because of this, the main capital of Archeon is controlled by Maven, while Cal takes the temporary capital of Harbor Bay after he defeats Maven’s forces. Norta has been at war with the Lakelands for centuries which has helped keep the Red population from attempting to overthrow the Silvers. There are also a variety of Tech Towns, which many Reds refer to as slums, where Reds are worked for poor wages with very little freedom to create products for the Silvers. At the end of the novel, Cal abdicates the throne to help build a Free Republic modeled after Montfort.
