Summary

Evangeline, annoyed by the pressure caused by the Silent Stone, watches as Cal tells Maven to surrender. She believes that Bracken and the Lakeland queens are losing faith in Maven, especially as Cal looks like more of a warrior now. Maven tells everyone to leave, surprising no one. Cal tells him to remember this when he is left alone. He then tells Cenra that he will only accept Lakeland surrender as well. Anabel meets eyes with Iris for reasons that Iris does not understand and everyone begins to leave. Maven leaves last after throwing a small temper tantrum. Evangeline is certain Maven’s allies will abandon him when Cal begins to win, but knows they will turn on Norta and the Rift.
