Chapters 41 - 49. Summary

In Chapter 41, Addie stops by the mini mart, but Soula is in bed. Elliot tells her that they have delayed the last chemo treatment so Soula's body can have a break. Addie understands, Soula told her that chemo was the cure, but the cure was a killer. Elliot seems sad, so Addie stays and the two of them dance to new music on the radio. Addie returns home through the water caused by the March weather on the melting snow piles. Mommers hasn't been home and never cleaned up the last of the Fiesta Night mess. Addie cleans all but the mess that Mommers was supposed to clean. She refuses. She tells Piccolo that from now on she is only taking care of herself and the hamster.
