Chapter Five Summary

Stephanie and Lula run from the factory to the safety of Lula's Firebird. The elves follow and attack. The elves pull the Christmas trees from the trunk of the Firebird and rip them limb from limb. The elves climb all over the car as Stephanie and Lula hide inside. Lula finally hits the gas and watches as most of the elves disappear in the rearview mirror. One elf hangs on. As Lula accelerates, the elf flies off the windshield taking the windshield wiper with him. Lula is no longer enamored with elves.

Stephanie returns to her apartment, only to get a message on the answering machine from her mother interrogating her about sending Christmas cards. Knowing that Stephanie is not prepared for Christmas, Frank Plum picked up a Christmas tree at the service station.....
