Coop is showing signs of improvement. Tory realizes she left the dog tags in her bag on Loggerhead as well. They get their stories straight for the following day. Tory ambushes Kit at seven in the morning and he brings the other parents up to speed before going to the Folly Beach Police Department. Kit's demeanor only worsens when the Sergeant tells him they have no resources or police to investigate on Morris or Loggerhead Islands. Livid, Ruth assures the Sergeant his continuing employment is tied to his willingness to investigate. When they reach Loggerhead, Karsten is standing on the dock with all three of the other fathers.
