Chapter 66-69 Summary

All the agents involved meet for a briefing. Craig hands out assignments for the coverage of the fetish ball. When he fails to give Hughes an assignment, she becomes very angry. Craig dismisses Hughes by telling her to help Cross or go home. Hughes once again tells Cross how she dislikes Craig, especially concerning his treatment of women.

William and Michael drive through New Orleans. The commercialism that surrounds the city sickens them. They also lament the fact that they cannot take a prey too close to Charles and Daniel's domain. They opt to drive out of the city for a dangerous free climb. As with skydiving, they cheat death fearlessly, showing their feelings of immortality.
