Raine demands to know why Alyx has deliberately hurt Joss. Alyx explains that she wanted to create a need for Joss to be in Rosamund's care. By forcing the two together, Joss would fall in love with Rosamund. Raine accuses Alyx of being manipulative and conniving, like a woman. At first, Alyx does not understand the accusation but she soon understands that Raine has discovered her secret. He knows she is a woman!
