Chapters 13-14 Summary

In Chapter 13, Lissa starts using compulsion to slowly turn the royals in her favor, but only when Rose isn't around. Rose decides to try to enter Lissa's mind to see what's happening. She sees Lissa talking to Camille Conta and using compulsion to make Camille think it wasn't a big deal that Rose fed on Lissa while they were on the road, and that Jesse was lying. She also gets Camille to invite her to study with Camille and another girl that night.

After Camille leaves, Christian comes up behind Lissa, helping with her ponytail, and she pulls away. He knows she's been using compulsion. Lissa accuses Christian of ignoring her. Ever since Rose told Christian that Lissa was only pretending to like him, their relationship has deteriorated. Rose comes back to herself.
