Chapters 7-8 Summary

In Chapter 7, Rose and Lissa settle down at the Academy. They hang around with Natalie, and Rose toughens up with her training. Dimitri has Rose doing a lot of running at practice, and she asks him when they'll start fighting. He questions her about what she would do if Lissa were attacked by a Strigoi. Rose says she would stab him with a silver stake, a deadly weapon, but she doesn't have one yet and isn't trained on them. She's too short to behead a Strigoi and wouldn't have any way to set one on fire. Dimitri points out that her best response would be to run.

Dimitri goes running with Rose, and she beats her best time by two minutes. She is talking with Dimitri, when suddenly she experiences Lissa, in terror, running down a flight of stairs. Rose takes off and finds Lissa near her dorm. Lissa...
