Book 1, Chapter 3 Summary

Mr. Finch and his men investigate the crime scene. They find mutilated bodies, and the mark of "V" on the wall of the train compartment. Finch mentions sending a copy of their report to Fate. He also discovers a lone rose, called a violet Carson, which became extinct after the war. Here is where Mr. Finch makes a connection between the letter "V" and their terrorist, as they are now calling him. Mr. Finch meets with the Leader to give an update on the "terrorist." Once the connection with the letter "V" is made, they use "Codename V," when referring to him. They are convinced that he is a psychopath. They mention that he is out for blood and getting it. With the voice of Fate missing, they fear their credibility.....
