Summary

Chapter 7

Maise tries to confront her mother in Chapter 7. Her mother begins crying when she sees Maise with her bank statement. Maise tells her the worst thing she’d done was to steal the money that her grandmother had given her for her future. She asks if her mother is able to get the money she owes or if it is up to her to bail them out again. When Maise’s mother asks if she hates her Maise says she is disappointed in her. Maise decides not to leave yet, but to make back the money her mother owes, then leave and never look back. She doesn’t think, though, that if she leaves, she’ll leave the good things as well.

It is a few days before Halloween when Maise goes to visit Evan in his classroom during lunch. Both are aroused...
