Tuor is the main character in the tale "Of Tuor and His Coming to Gonodolin." The story follows his life from the time of his birth until he reaches Gonodolin. Son of Huor, Tuor is raised by the elves. His mother leaves him in their keeping shortly after his birth to go and search for her husband. As she never returns from her search, this leaves Tuor to grow up among the fair folk. He is adopted by Annael, who sees to it that the boy is well tutored in all facets of life, from history to warfare.
