Summary

Aza's mother tells her that Lyle the security guard returned their canoe. She asks Aza if she went to see Davis. They briefly discuss Aza's father, who died suddenly while mowing the lawn. Aza meets Daisy at Applebee's for dinner and looks for information on Davis' social media accounts. She finds some blog posts. The girls learn that Russell's construction company was hired to work on a sewer system that was meant to divert a creek called Pogue's Run so that sewage would no longer be dumped into White River. The work was never finished. Daisy describes the Star Wars fan fiction she is writing.

In Chapter 7, Aza's friend Mychal approaches her. Aza believes he is trying to ask her out, but he is actually asking if she thinks Daisy would go out with him. Daisy sends Aza the police report on Russell...
