Chapter 9, 'A Joyful Omen' and Chapter 10, 'I So Move' Summary

In chapter 9, Grant orders that rocks set aside to build the wall be used to build a house for Carmen and Bob. Rod questions the delay to building the wall, but agrees that Bob and Carmen need privacy. Rod also learns that Grant has restricted the members of the government committees to only his classmates at Teller, further infuriating his friends and increasing their desire to start a new colony. Once again Rod refuses to leaves, suggesting they give Grant more time. That night, Bob and Carmen are married in a short ceremony that gives all the survivors reasons to hope for a good future.
