Ginger Summary

Sandy is in the hospital. Ginger and her grandmother visit and pray constantly, while Iris has only visited two or three times. Iris has a new boyfriend named Harry, who reminds Ginger of one of her mother's ex-boyfriends, who raped Ginger. Ginger subsequently never tells anyone. Yet she is afraid under Harry's gaze, and she lashes out at Iris and Harry, calling Iris a whore.

Ginger then escapes her house and runs to Alex's, where she confesses everything. Alex holds Ginger as she cries. She and Alex kiss, and Alex gives Ginger a Coke spiked with rum.

When Ginger returns home, Iris announces Sandy will be released soon.
