Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 Summary

Dez takes Kale to a friend's house in Chapter 3, and she explains to Kurt Curday, known as Curd, their situation. When Curd leaves to find something to drink, Kale explains to Dez that he was shocked to touch her because his touch normally kills. To explain, he touches a plant, which immediately turns to dust. He claims Marshall Cross uses him as a weapon, and Dez knows he is probably being honest, as she is well aware that others in the world can have powers that aren't well explained. Dez finds herself memorized by his touch, and Kale seems in awe to be able to touch another person.
