Chapters 46-50 Summary and Analysis

Frank's father comes to New York, hoping to become part of his family. Angela is unsure what to do, as he says he has quit drinking and is a new man. Frank tells her to see what happens. Malachy Sr. arrives on the Queen Mary, drunk and his son Malachy takes him to a meeting of Alcoholic's Anonymous. Frank's father is not a changed man, and Frank sees that if he is not careful he will turn out like him. On his father's last night he and Frank go for a walk and the two stop and many bars for some beer.
