Timeline Related Titles
In his 1990 Jurassic Park, Crichton brought dinosaurs to life in the present day. The goal of Dr. Alan Grant was to create a learning experience with his theme park, but he failed to foresee nature's adaptability and the dinosaurs learn to breed and escape. The message in Jurassic Park is that we cannot bring the past into the present for our enjoyment. Timeline takes up the converse of this idea: if we cannot bring the past alive in the present, then perhaps we can send ourselves into the past instead.
The close of Timeline suggests that although this particular trip was disastrous (two dead, one missing), it might yet be possible to time travel safely.
