Kramer updates Doniger on the damage in the lab. Kramer tells Doniger that Stern wants to use an older version of the machine to go back and help his friends. After some thought, Doniger decides it is too dangerous.

Marek, Kate, and Chris make their way through the forest outside Castelgard in an attempt to get to the monastery. Each time they move, however, they seem to catch the attention of de Kere’s soldiers. Eventually Marek tells them to turn off their ear pieces that allow them to speak to one another. Later they discuss it and decide that someone has Gomez’s ear piece. This implies that someone attached to Oliver came from their universe.
