Chapter 17

Kate doesn’t disappear. She and Trey quickly go inside, where Connor is waiting for them. Connor looks distressed, having witnessed Katherine disappear. He goes upstairs to extend the protective field, which is why Kate didn’t leave. Kate is more determined than ever to travel and warn Katherine, which they believe will save her in this timeline. Trey tells Kate he knows that if the timeline changes they won’t be together. They express their love for one another and Kate even tries to take it one step further, but Trey declines. He doesn’t want her to have to have the memories just in case something did happen. The next day, Trey tells her to find him after the timeline changes because he’s convinced he’ll still have feelings for her.
