Chapter 34 Summary

It is opening night for the production of Oklahoma! at Davey's school. The thought of Ned, The Nerd sitting in the audience with her family, angers Davey a little and she comes close to asking her mother not to bring him. By the time her excitement about the night peaks, she is glad she didn't go through with her request. Davey is a hit in the play and is asked for an encore by the audience. Reuben is the first person to congratulate Davey. He was overwhelmed by her performance and pleasantly surprised, mentioning that he thought she was shy. Reuben gives Davey a quick kiss on her cheek, before she sees her family trying to find her. Davey's mother gives her a yellow rose, a kiss and a tight hug. Her mother.....
