Chapter 22-25 Summary and Analysis

When the new trainee arrives, the two fictional Thursdays are horrified to be working together. They are the complete opposites of each other. Thursday1-4 is sarcastic and disrespectful. She makes fun of Thursday5 until she is close to tears. Thursday tries to maintain control. She fires Thursday1-4 on the spot. It is only then that Thursday1-4 agrees to behave and do as she is told. The three Thursdays go to Text Grand Central. TGC is located in a massive gothic castle taken from an unfinished book. TGC is the bureaucratic aspect of Book World. They pass the Imaginotransference Storycode Engines, which are responsible for transmitting the books into the reader's imagination. They are giant machines, running constantly. The three Thursdays are assigned to Piano Control.
