Padraic Kelly's Letter

While investigating vandalism at the family ranch, Nora Kelly finds a letter her father wrote the same year he disappeared, more than sixteen years earlier. This letter tells Nora the location of Quivira, a mythic city of gold. Nora uses this letter to lead an expedition into the Utah canyons.

Hairbrush

The skinwalkers take a hairbrush from Nora's house to cast a spell on her, hoping it will lead to her death. Unfortunately the hair in the hairbrush belongs to Nora's brother, Skip. Skip's car mysteriously loses its brakes, causing Skip to realize that the people dressed like animals who attacked his sister are skinwalkers.
