Chapters 26-30 Summary

In Chapter 26, the next day, Andrew attends the dance party, but is immediately annoyed when Bennie dances with AnnaLise. As Andrew is preparing to leave, he accidentally drops the flask of whiskey on the floor. Before he can pick it up, the principal spots it and confiscates it.

In Chapter 27, Andrew worries all weekend about the still. Tangled in his mind with the quandary of the still are his brother's questioned morals. Andrew asks his father why Pete left for the war and learns that it was because he wanted to fight, but had nothing to do with Claudia. This makes Andrew feel somewhat better. Early the next morning, Andrew goes to the newspaper office and asks to borrow the camera. At school, Andrew discovers that the principal is questioning everyone about the flask. Bennie is called in as Andrew arrives...
